The Ranger has always been my favourite truck, I like the more brash American look of this one. In the past I’ve looked at F150s at 51 State Autos but they are just a tad too big 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

It’s been confirmed the Aussie market are getting a 3.0 Diesel V6 option but what’s the betting the UK /Europe only get the eco-boost 2.0 & maybe a hybrid option |

One downside is the weight.
Most models are too heavy unladen (2040kg limit ) to count as Dual Purpose Vehicles. They are therefore subject to the slower van speed limits on A roads and Dual Carriageways (As are the new Def 90 and 110 HTs however...) |

Which I think most people ignore! I often get overtaken whilst I'm doing 70 by a Ranger towing a trailer. I feel sure that the 2040kg restriction will be changed at some point as more vehicles become electrified and therefore heavier. If you wanted a Rivian over here you'd need an HGV licence |

No you don't, the MAM limit for "alternatively fuelled" vehicles on cat B licence has already been increased. Otherwise you'd only have a 300kg payload in a Rivian. That's what The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 was all about.
No change to the DPV definition of course. |
