Britpart DA5717 Heated Seat Kit - WIRING??
Evening all

Just fitted the above seat heater kit but sadly the package had it's instructions missing - Grrr!

The wiring loom I thought should be straight forward. There is a heavy(ish) red cable fused so that I'm assuming is the positive supply ... and there is a heavy(ish) black cable, presumed to be the negative.

In older kits these were the ONLY wires however coming from my loom is also a thin red cable and thin green/yellow cable.

Can any one comment please?

The other 2 will be for a thermostat I would think.

Not a brit part kit but in the generic ones I have the other wires are for the switch.
Two position switch, 3 wires to it.

Hi Co ... Must be missing your point. The wiring loom already has a relay/thermostat incorporated? 2010 Defender 90 300Tdi CW (White/1994)

Thanks for your reply and image Bodstruck but why would those two be for a switch when the loom already has an On/Off two way switch built in.

Think I need to post a more detailed image rather than just the end wires.

Sorry folk, maybe I should have posted an image of the whole wiring loom - not just the four wires.

So in the picture below the complete loom has:

4x White connectors (two for each seat)
1x Double On/Off switch
1x Black box (Relay/Thermostat)

... and of course the four wires, two of which I'm sure will be the thick Red 12V (VE) Positive and the thick Black being the Negative.

Still un-explained the thin Red and thin Green/yellow.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

... and the information is now flowing!

I sent a message to Britpart at 9am this morning not expecting to hear back ... but I've just received the fitting/wiring instructions.

Hope this helps others:

Hi folk

Still not wired in the loom yet for the heated seats as I need to modify it. It's so long its not true!

Ideally I want to cut at least a metre off the two leads that supply power to the seat elements. I can get the pins out of the four sockets without too much of an issue but I'd like to get new pins to re-crimp the leads to.

Anyone know where I can get them please or know the part number (See images below)
