Thanks Naks, enjoyable viewing. A gentleman who has big enthusiasm to match his big frame. And what a lucky fellow: “…here in MY forest…”. Only in Canada. Or at least, not in Western Europe.

Using his frame as a guide, noticeable how much more compact the cabin dimensions are in the Bronco than the Def. Markedly so.

It does seem that every video comparing the New Defender with vehicle X, Y or Z, is only ever shod with the Goodyears and as such will always immediately put the ND at a disadvantage. I wonder why they’re never allowed to slap on something more robust or more off-roady? The conspiracy theorist in me would suggest it’s a JLR HQ policy. By never allowing it to be tested against competitors with like-for-like tyres, any failure against those other marques and models can always be blamed on the tyre (clearly evidenced here) rather than the vehicle or tech. I can’t see any other reason why every, single review is undertaken with crap tyres, whilst every Bronco, Rubicon, etc is shod properly. Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

I don't think that it's a JLR policy of not allowing other tyres. I think the JLR dealers do lend a car as it is: bring it back without scratches please!

Most of these tests are biased to one or the other side. Most US (or Canadian) testers always see their cars superior to European cars. I think quality wise their cars are years behind European cars.
The Defender normally can go through where the other car seems to play, but the Defender shows it with normal street tyres. And that is really great performance. The other cars wouldn't come far with normal tyres.
I noticed it myself the other day when I pulled another car out of a field full of mud. Just with plain Michelin All Season 18" tyres.

As for the Bronco, I sat in one at a dealer in Luxembourg (he does import a small number directly from the USA): At lot of plastic though the car is as big as the Defender, it feels narrow inside.
The dealer told me it will come to Europe sometimes, but only the model shown, not the one shown in the video. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

Surprise suprise TFL Off-road has a broken Bronco……… it’s developed a Land Rover Defender type issue…
 Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Kinda felt they dragged that video out a bit

A leaking shock which should be replaced at the dealer. That’s what they should have just reported.

Not exactly a check engine light, engine trashed, car ridden off having a winch installed and two trashed tyres on a mild off road trail…… Whistle

Talking of which, have they got rid of their Defender, not seen it for a while?

Mental. Far prefer the look of that to the new 90. Perfect balance of retro Bronco styling brought into the 21stC.

Steelies are a bit small (or at least the tyres are) so maybe address that to fill the arch a bit more. Perhaps add a roof rack? But otherwise like it a lot. And it’s simple, practical and offers (roof popping) fun.

At that price it would be a good alternative to a 90 Wolf that’s been renovated for some occasional summer’s day soft top outings, but comes with modern trappings, drivability and warranty.

And LR couldn’t do that (or feel the need to do that) why? Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

My thoughts were, it's got everything I want in a daily driver, except heated seats and front screen.
It's a decent size too and 300bhp! At that price I'd have one on order. Sad

Let’s not forget that Ford have openly said that they want their customers to make their Bronco their own.

The US already has a ton of fabricators at the ready to modify the Bronco for the use and taste of the owner.

So in that case why buy a top spec then remove X only to replace it with uprated parts.

For example a couple of years ago Off-road Evolution took a base spec Jeep Gladiator, then kitted it out for off-road / overlanding including better suspension and 37” tyres and lockers for less that the cost of the Rubicon version without the rest of the build kit.

Land Rover could have done the same and lowered the towing capacity by specking smaller brakes then fitted a more suitable wheel / tyre size for those that what to travel off the beaten path…

Hence the US market will always be behind the Jeep and Bronco and not the Defender.
