Defender XS seats
So I have some Defender XS leather seats I have hopefully secured!!
I am presuming they are a straight fit usual 4 bolts - with regards to the heated side of things they will just have a plug connector - can I then strip the plug - wire into live feed/relay, add switches into the dash (or seat box I was thinking) - bobs your uncle Fannys your aunt..

Has anyone fitted XS seats into a 200 or 300 before?

Keep in mind, especially with the seat base, that you have to be able to remove it without cutting the wires... so a connector is needed. By default, seat base and seat back have 2 different connectors, but T connected.
Check the power (current) draw, so to make sure that the connector can easily handle it without melting.

I buy in bulk 2 pin connectors (made in China as most other stuff is), but have been pleased with them. However highest power I connect is 25W, which is roughly 2A. But you will need a dedicated crimper, that folds and crimps the pin on the wire (and insulation for anchoring).

I have fitted heated cloth XS seats to my 300tdi 90, l find them more comfortable if mounted on Mud seat rails. The incoming wiring goes to the seat back and a wire comes out from the back to go to a plug on the seat base - see pic

Sorry not the best pic.

The only downside I find is that you can’t fit the original centre seat at the same time.

I have the half leather XS seats in Millie and all wired in and you can fit the middle seat in between them

I like the idea of a cubby but the middle seat just looks so nice and comes in handy on occasion.. Thumbs Up 1993 200Tdi Defender 90
