Hi guys.

Do the single din screens block the air vents when the screen is out? In addition to the hazard button. I'm thinking there'll be some type of condensation to the back of the screen that may drip down to the unit.

On the fence deciding if to do the facia conversion.

That's not a problem I've ever noticed, the screen does not come up that far (I can still see the clock while driving).

Hi. I fitted mine in Sept 17 and eventually re located the 3 hidden switches to a MUD pod on the dash top. It is true you can still sort of reach them behind the screen but it is a bit awkward. I was also wanting to mount an oil temp gauge so it worked for me. I also converted to Disco 2 Hazard switch and wiring in order to use the normal size switch mounts in the pod. Just picked up the AVH-Z7200DAB on Amazon - it crops up every now and again - I was checking daily and got it for £430 so very happy. Now the fun of fitting it 2013 Aintree Green 110 Station Wagon SX

I'm seeing that it plays with the screen in so I'll only pop it out for maps and remote F1 viewing.

This week installed Sony XAV-AX8050D. It has fixed screen. Got in on Amazon Prime day for 399 EUR. Probably had to remove screen for yearly inspection or relocate hazard warning button. But all top buttons are reachable.

Love your work AK34! I'd love to know how you mounted the single din securely in the dash? I have the Sony XAV-AV8000 and the instructions say to use the manufacturers (read Land Rover's) mounting brackets and not the sleeve / cage. But for the life of me I cant find anything or anyone that makes or sells these things. Otherwise I can definitely see this shiny new unit rotating down and smashing onto the gear stick

Rich, I've got the same Sony unit installed and just used the supplied cage, as per a single din - it's been in for 6 months or so and doesn't move / feel insecure at all. Certainly no brackets etc that are different to standard.

Mine wasn't shipped with a cage, so I'll jump on eBay and buy a universal single din sony cage / sleeve and give that a whirl

Finally fitted mine yesterday, but the DAB antenna is a bit of a strange one.
It has the long cable with a block at the end and a small strange shaped rigid plastic piece. I get that they have to go together but where has everyone fitted it?
It says it's not good with heated screens, but can I mount it horizontally in an alpine light window?
Or is there an easier solution. Without spending the world? 110 D250 SE HT

Did not want to change the dash for 2-DIN screen and 1-DIN version I installed in Puma would be too low and too close to gear stick in 300tdi. But wanted to get CarPlay in this Defender as well. Therfore ordered wireless Apple CarPlay screen from Aliexpress for 180 EUR. Unfortunatelly it is no longer available, but there should be similar ones if somone is interested. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002539...4c4drT0ZKS

So far it looks good. The price was very good and if it lives for couple of years I will be happy. Then will change to something. I like that screen is quite high. Probably have to do something with wiring later
