I'm not positive, but have a half memory of reading the lines could handle up to 4 different products at the same time.

T5 line was initially meant to be churning out 5 models. D3, RRS, Ford Ranger (I think) and two others that hadn’t been thought up yet.

That might make sense of what I think I read, if you then add the 130 in.

Hello
I ordered my Defender 110 on January 27th in Belgium. My dealer told me delivery mid September. But he couldn't give any idea why? As of yesterday he couldn't give me any production date either.

I emailed in a minor build change yesterday - salesman emailed me back this morning saying he's sorting it but added "I will call you later today, with an update" . . . Neutral Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Fookin' hell this is stressfull. Big Cry

Nothing from salesmen all day so I email him (don't actually have his phone number Confused )

He rings back within 60 seconds.

Order variation just gone through. (hurrah Thumbs Up )
My build date still hasn't changed either. (double hurrah Thumbs Up Thumbs Up )
More paperwork to digitally sign coming (boo hoo Sad )

So I ask him "there's definitely something going on isn't there?"
And he says "Yes, its COVID related, not at JLR/Nitra but in the supply chain - so they're some parts which suppliers are letting them down on, which then is having the negative knock on effects to orders we are hearing about.

Allegedly he has seen 'red banners' on LR ordering screens warning of issues.

I have a poorly D4 SCV6 sitting at the dealer waiting on parts delayed by “Brexit and Covid”. Sad

I really don't mind waiting as long as necessary for my Defender, but this news is making me uneasy.

I absolutely don't want a lemon because various parts have been swapped for alternatives due to supply issues.

They really dont swap out parts... unless they had 2 suppliers validated.

And getting someone tooled up an validated can be a very long time depending the part and complexities.

I just made a slight change to my build (due to be built mid-March) and the dates back from LR changed less than a week. Notably I still /do/ have a fixed date, and there was no warning passed to my dealer on any delays either.

Guess it's some chunk/range of models and specs, maybe???

@expatbrit, this is simply not important, but I'm intrigued! What changes did you make so close to your build date?

I've nearly changed my build so many times but then stopped myself, otherwise I think I'd change it daily.
