I went direct to the negative battery terminal with a slightly longer, thicker gauge, wire.

Thanks guys!
(Un)fortunately exmoortrim talking a month for the carpet set so this is all a low-risk trial before ripping out and having the opportunity for a redo. Not sure if grateful for the extra time tinkering or wish I could get it all done in one! |

Hi, mine is set at -3db.
The Focals have a reputation for being 'bright', with the high frequecies. Plus the tweeters are in a more direct line to to your ears, so they could do with turning down, compared to the main speakers that are pointing down from the lower dash. What amp/ sub are you going for? I've not amped my ES130 's yet. |

I think mine are set to 0 and half the time I’m wondering whether to fish them out and change it. Quite a variable emotion depending on the volume though! I have the Kenwood DMX8019DABS head unit and that allows me a bit of adjustment too. Needless to say trial it in “real life” settings. Sounded flawless in the garage on a quiet Sunday...different story at 30 over potholes and puddles!

Prior to fitting the sub I found them too bright and adjusted the tweeter crossover switch down to -3db. I left the woofer at flat 0db. After fitting the sub I felt it needed more high frequencies back so adjusted the tweeter back to flat 0db > 110 XS Double Cab
