Engine vibrating
Hello

I had my defender TD5 recently serviced and now when I drive above 50mph on the highway the engine becomes very rough sending vibrations throughout the car... If I let the gas go the vibrations stop so I don't thing is the tyres or the body causing it.
The vibrations diminish when going above 65/70mph... It's like the pistons are not balanced properly... Any ideas?

Any speed in town is fine.

Thank you for any advice.

Is it a misfire? mine does it sometimes (dodgy connection on one of the injectors)

That makes it sound rough and vibrates... even stationary just revving it you can feel it.

Are you sure its the engine? My gearbox vibrates for some reason around 3,000 rpm in 4th gear. 2005 Td5 90 XS

is this the service they did and it started vibrating after that. they have been in on timing then.

you need to find a better priced garage, panard rod is about £40 not £160, likewise rear trailing arms, for two examples. Cheers

Looks like a main dealer to me.

I’d say a failing UJ is the issue, but could be wrong. Best way is to take the props off and check.
The greasing may well have increased the imbalance and showing it up. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

So this is what they did and then the vibrations started after this work, or it went in with vibrations and this is what they did to try and fix it? Cheers
