LOL ~ very good.

And yes, I'm Defender watching but also looking out for those Grenadiers, and wouldn't mind spotting one or two AXR Crossbones.

The Tour has been a disaster for Ineos Grenadier. Hopefully not an omen. WARNING.

4.6km from the finish today, spotted the Orange nosed one parked on the inside of one of the loops.

I wanted to say 'the wheels have come off' blah blah

However i am not surprised. When i saw the original team rota i felt that this was very much a changing of the guard.

Frome leaves the team at the end of the season and Thomas was looking to leave the other year, and won that years TDF. How much longer will Thomas stay i don't know.

Like all dominate teams they ride the crest, then have to start again and rebuild.

It will be interesting to see Thomas in the Giro, will he go for it with a grin on his face to say 'you should have picked me.....'

Lets wait and see.. Thumbs Up

G looked strong all round in the Terreno Adriatico. Loneger time trial and three week event and he might pip Yates. If both make the Giro it could be a corker. And Froome always said he loved the racing of the Vuelta more, so that will be an interesting swan song, assuming they don't parachute in Bernal. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Beyond epic ~ very entertaining to watch.

I can't get my head around not racing tomorrow, same in Le Man's with the last lap ~ is it entirely a French thing.

And is there another elite sport in the world where competitors will drink champagne & smoke cigars whilst still competing?

Wow. That’s all I can say. Wow. I sensed throughout that he could do it. Sorry for Roglic. At 30 he’s now looking old compared to these young guns. I personally don’t think they pushed Pogacar hard enough, he had almost no team around him throughout the Pyrenees and Alps. Could have really hurt him. I’m wondering how good Sepp Kuss could be in TTs to make him a real GC contender and Jumbo Visma’s next hope. He was by far their strongest climber. Hard to say if his 7-minute slower TT time was fatigue, bothered or ability.

As for drinking Champagne and not competing, it’s a relatively new thing and nothing to do with the organisers. It’s become tradition amongst the riders. They’ve only actually been finishing on the Champs Élysées since 1975 and many occasions the stage has been won by a breakaway. And of course you had the Individual Time Trial of 89 (compared to regularly during yesterday’s stage) that decided the final GC standings for that year. Certainly the Vuelta and Giro still race. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Looks like they had a “Land Rover” moment yesterday getting a water bottle in the cycle’s spokes...... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Yep. Road cyclists are hard as nails. Whether at the front or the back the sport is basically a test of suffering.
