get the log, plot it in excel and you will know how much air flow vs boost you are getting.
A Td5 will get peak air flow around 2500rpm so that's what you want see. What RPM are you having the issues around? However, if you already feel no resistance on the waste gate, then i guess you should resolve that first. On the standard turbo the waste gate opens when there's enough pressure against it and should be closed by default. it's purely mechanical to prevent over boost (unlike the disco which has an electronic modulator as well) and if the over boost condition still happens then the ecu cuts fuelling in its last attempt to lower the boost which results in it jerking. If you had one of those boost cheater circuit installed, they limit the reading to 0.99 or 1bar and in the map, this is reflected. so if you remove the cheater circuit and keep the map, then it's going to say "oh, we are over 1bar now, let's pull back on the fuelling as we have exceeded the limit". Again, this depends on how it was written and I would need to look at the map before i can comment further. I'm assuming again that you have a VGT if it's a "stage 2" remap, like what you mentioned in the earlier post. Easiest thing, just load the original map back on the ECU to see if the problem goes away. if you can provide the log and map, i can help you read it. Its not solved yet. Still searching. Slight delayas clutch has now gone I will post once I get to the bottom of it to share what we find. |

New fuel pump solved the issue for me.

Although after saying that a new fuel pump had solved the issue for me, the hesitation is still present at low revs with a cold engine, as well as that, it sounds a bit like a tank for a short while until up to temperature. Once the engine is at full working temperature it runs like a dream, so sorry the search continues.
