That looks very close! I’d be worried about the pipe being cut with all the body movement. Ray

Good point , I’ve now modified it for more move room , I’ve also got some 2mm Ali sheet to repair the tub side , I think the tub is actually 1.6mm thick , but not to worry as one trip to the pit and it’ll be dented and scratched , but is stronger than before , I might get some blue paint too Thumbs Up

It’s so flipping hot in my garage I decided to give her a chassis flush , I always wash the chassis out after a pit visit and to be honest , she cleaned easily straight out onto the garage floor so I could see what came out , I had upgraded my drain holes to 25mm and I think that’s helped , next up , get me tub/tank rewired

Hello everyone , I wanted to find a cheap but good etch primer , so a chum put sent me to eBay and this u-pol etch primer , 7 quid a can and appears rather good , I don’t sand stuff down as the pit does that for me , my tin of blue should arrive tomorrow , so should look pretty until used .

Don’t laugh but got some sand paper , rubbed the panel down and gave it another coat of the etch primer , it’s the best part of the truck now Thumbs Up

To me, that looks like the difference between new paint (without lacquer?) and old, faded paint. Matching old paint is notoriously difficult unless you have the right kit to measure it and mix something up to suit.

As an aside, I love your truck and the fact that you play with it, break it and then fix it with a hammer or a bit of ali plate and a pop rivet gun Thumbs Up Darren

As above old unpolished paint with lacquer and fresh base coat unlaquered is the difference. Ray

What a machine , what an awesome toy this is . Next Sunday should be a pit visit , Covid permitting . So this morning she came out to play field hoping , chopping off the rear silencer ( again ) sees the power back and no flat spot , the turbo sounds a treat once more , maize cut fields are the best and with all the rain , tons n tons n tons of fun , very happy indeed I be . A few bits noted , the blue paint looks ok , 70 mph is lethal , 30 mph in bends is horrendously lethal , but 50 mph around a field is bloody brilliant

She’s had a treat , new reversing light to go in the back of the cab , it’s monster bright indeed . 14 quid for two off amazon and a new front propshaft , didn’t fancy cleaning the old one Thumbs Up
