Bespoke roof tent by Autohome now available. Though £2800. No idea if that’s good or bad but being LR branded I’m guessing the latter.

Add to that the cost of the roof rails and crossbars to mount it on and it starts to get a bit costly. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Rock sliders fitted. Looks like they are planning something for the rear bumper, either that or a bits just missing.

For those that want the big orange recovery eyes from the X. They can be retrofitted.

These are £33 each, apparently. They're solid metal and HEAVY duty. I'm not sure you can have them in Orange - just black but I think they look awesome.

Fitting requires taking the rear bumper off. It takes an hour but is entirely possible at home.

I've ordered 2 Thumbs Up

Note: There's a gap between where the eyes protrude and the bumper surround - which won't look completely finished. Someone will need to make an insert to replace the towing eye covers. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

PowerfulUK are working on a trim piece to fit around the recovery eyes, and I have a PM with LRCS as to why my local dealer won’t sell and fit them to my car “they aren’t available for the First Edition so we won’t fit them for you” I was told by the spotty youth in the parts section on Saturday Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

My dealer has ordered them separately. The part numbers come from the Defender X - so your spotty oik is partly right (but not very resourceful) One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

I'd have thought LR's history with choppers is long established:

Here's a photo of the Lucky 8 sliders for the D5 from underneath - you can see that there is a substantial (and heavy) steel structure that helps protect the whole sill area and compressor - I know a couple of guys who competed in the Trek events and they said these were very stout.

Can anyone speak to the 2 inch lift kit being sold by Proud Rhino? Supposedly a five minute job with no tools required. Makes airbags think they are low. Not sure the impact on the suspension as a whole. Any technical input would be greatly appreciated. My Defender gets here on 9/4. gitty up!

You'd probably get a better response on the RRS forum ~ I remember it being a thing on there a few years ago, and so the te h and feedback would reflect the length in market better.
