Changed the seat covers and foams and with the old ones made a cubby box lid.

Good job mate, what foams and covers did you use and how hard or long was the job?

But unfortunately far from uncommon ~ is there any vehicle out there that has not been garaged from day one that isn't showing the same?

Went to pick up a great condition bonnet today so I can loose the chequer plate on the front of mine Mr. Green and booked it in for painting when the windscreen surround gets painted, but the paint shop is busy till mid august Shocked Ray

Had lunch sitting in the back looking out from the North Yorkshire Moors towards Roseberry Topping. There are worse places to eat a sandwich.

Frustratingly, it has been garaged since day one. And never driven in snow or salt. Chassis is still perfect; this area not so much. Rolling Eyes Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

So if I was the service manager at my local main dealer, I'd be telling you that you must have been using the windscreen washer excessively. Wink

An embellishment of the idea could be to drill a series of holes in the side of the pipe to allow a wet umbrella to dry out but I only thought of that after I'd fitted it, so it'll do for now.

If you left it open in the middle, it would air dry, and a lower mounting would allow it to drip onto the rubber mat rather than uncovered metal:

I like this set up! How will they be if the seats are folded forward? What size are the pipes and how are they secured? Difficult to re-holster?

I have a bunch of large umbrellas under the second row and they would thud around during sharp turns. This set up makes things look more "official" plus 2 large umbrellas should be good enough for about 5 people anyways, right? Is there a way to install a 3rd umbrella? I'm realizing that I use one of the large umbrellas just for myself. I guess I can do another holster set up where LRA put his kit Thumbs Up

It works fine with seats folded forward.
Pipe is just standard 40mm waste pipe - available in a number of colours.
Pipes are just secured with a single zip tie.
Re-holstering is a doddle - just slide in the pointy end until handle is able to be aligned with cut tube and pull back to sleeve.

I think a 3rd umbrella could be fitted between the 2 I have.

My Heritage did the same thing. 3 times it was repainted under warranty in 4 years. Very boring. It lived in the garage, had wax / ACF50 on all the right places and still rusted before my eyes.

I don’t think you can fit another in between those two or the seat won’t fold forward? Ray

Thank you! Will play around with the ideas a bit to see what fits my situation!

Went from a BAS 150 map to a 170 this weekend. Well worth the cash for the upgrade, and should have gone for it in the first place. Loads more low end talk and a healthy speed injection. Feels smoother as well. All for an extra £60.

Picked up a spare engine for the lightweight, it’s guna be a while until I will be able to strip and overhaul it so a generous coat of cavity wax was applied prior to storage:
