white dial kit - removal?
Hi folks.

Can I check if anyone has fitted a white dial kit? - for example https://tmdtuning.com/shop/tmd-white-dials/.

Looking at a puma with one fitted and would prefer to return to stock. Was wondering if it is simply an overlay (in which case could I simply remove it to expose the original dials) or if it would mean tracking down an original piece (which I can't seem to find as a separate part number on Microcat).

Thank you!

My understanding is that they are a whole new set, you have to remove the needles.

Your best bet would be to swap with another member who wanted white ones. I imagine there would be a fair bit of interest

...and replied Smile

Think I'll be taking the advice above an offering it as a free swap to another forumer.

Does anyone happen to know if the original dial view was common across all Puma Defenders?

I ask as the dealer has a few and I could try and make it a condition of the sale that its swapped over - the only issue being that the other models are higher spec with Traction Control as standard. I didn't know whether all Puma dashes had the same TC illumination and if it only works on those with it fitted.

Do you couldn't find it on eBay - doe you have a link by any chance? My eyesight isn't good enough to see if its a genuine one or a black aftermarket one.

There are 3 facia specs, ignoring the obvious MPH/KPH calibrated speedo difference.

A. With 1 TC light (all 2.4 Pumas)
B. With 1 TC light and DPF lights (2.2 Pumas up to 14MY)
C. With TC and TC off lights and DPF lights (2.2 Pumas 15MY-16MY)

The instrument pack (and the facia) is the same with or without ABS/TC.

You can replace with a facia from a newer spec (e.g. replace A with A, B or C; or B with B or C). The additional warning lights don't clash or replace lamps on earlier models.

The TC off lamp on 15-16MY is in the position which is a park brake symbol (P) on pre-15MY Defenders but it never lights up.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

FYI you can't swap a Disco 3/RRS 1/Freelander 2 facia in as the speedo is calibrated differently and the lamps are in different places.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
