Hi all
Im doing the swivels and need to buy a 52mm socket. Can anyone recommend one that is deep enough and also cheap? Thanks Rich |

I would personally go for a box type one as my 52mm impact type like pictured above is not deep enough to get onto the inner locknut on my 90 when doing wheel bearings.

Definitely this. The replacement rear axle on my car came with the newer set up of spacer and the nut torqued up to 'daftNm'. Having studied and digested various threads on the topic, I decided to ditch the spacer and go old-style when doing some other rear axle stuff recently. I'm familiar with this from the umpty-um times I've done trailer bearings, and it's so much easier to manage. I'm lucky though in that I have a good impact driver, which took the 250Nm hub nut off without any drama. Luck, or planning ahead..... maybe.... can't remember. As with benniferJ I have the impact socket and the tube spanner. I know which I'd pick up first - I didn't have any issues getting the socket to fit onto the inner hub nut.
