How about a series LWB mounting bracket which fitted to the tub/capping to hold the wheel in the same sort of orientation as yours?
It does normally sit in a recess in the raised side of the tub in a Series but obviously no good on yours as the recess would intrude into the wheel well too much. Shouldnt be too hard to make up a bracket that fixes to the tub and capping and bolts through the centre of the wheel to hold it. Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

The factory method is shown below and uses this bracket https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams/land-r...nted_53728

As he said though, his bench seat means that the standard position is not suitable.... 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

Grenadier, that is the standard mounting position for a 110DC that I already have, but does not work because I now have a bench seat installed on one side.
rallysteve, thanks I think I have seen the setup you mention a long time ago. Probably doesn't need the recess, so I will look for those capping mounted brackets. |

Have a look at this diagram, should show the bits I am thinking of:
https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams/land-r...-wagon_432 You might need a 'chock' or 'tyre saver' under the wheel to stop it wanting to roll though without the recess Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Thanks for finding that Steve. Looks to be a solid solution, fitting to both tub and capping. I would probably need to modify a little with my straight lining sides, but not a problem. However, I think I prefer to only use the capping as a mounting point. I will have a play with some ideas.

There's always the TUL/TUM/Wolf external side mount option, but you'd have to improvise the brackets.

Those options are all quite expensive and many of the parts out of stock. So I went back to my first thought and attached a horizontal bar to the front and rear hoop. To this bar I mounted a bracket and then used some of the original factory parts to secure the wheel. For extra security I could add a short strap to the top, but I don't think it needs it - it seems quite solid as it is.

![]() Do you have a few more photos showing the bracket & hoop connectors? I'll dig some photos out ~ I mounted some Unwin track along the top edge of the tub and used one of their pivoting connectors with the OE front wheel plate. I’ve been looking through my pics but can’t find a photo of it but I just made a T bracket. The top had a clamp that attached to the hood frame and the bottom of it fitted to tub sides using existing holes. Then fixed wheel to that.
