It just sort of stick up with a sloping front presumably to reduce the risk if it catching on things.

I like the idea of it, but cant help but think that having the filter exposed like that (effectively open on the sides) in the UK is just going to cause problems as it'll spend most of its time water logged, especially this summer

I've thought about this before, a suitable thickness of open cell foam, like pond filter material or something, could cut to fit snugly inside a snow cowl and may perform quite well. There is a problem where the heater box connects to the wing ducting though, it is a very leaky joint, so would need better sealing to make filter properly effective. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
