Got the go ahead from the insurance company to get the front end of SWMBO 07 XS to be repaired after wait for it.......it was “eaten” by a horse, yep you read that correctly ”eaten” by a horse that reached out of its stable window and savaged the front end of her Defender , horse teeth can do a lot of damage to front wings inner and outer paint both side, grille mounting panel, bonnet, the grill and indicators both sides oh and the headlamp bezels both sides..... and the repair costs £2.5k, it was an interesting claim conversation with the insurance company Rolling with laughter but in fairness they approved it with 4 days of me making the claim, hats off to LV insurance Thumbs Up

How much will it affect your future premiums though Sad

At my age and location I live I’m not too worried Adam, I view it as getting back some of the monies I have paid in premiums over the years Rolling with laughter insurance is there incase you need it and with that sort of quote I need it Rolling with laughter

Lol very true. Regards
Adam

Now come on Simon, you could of avoided all this heart ache with no defenders on the drive Wink Laughing 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

Clayton life without defenders would be very mundane and boring, imagine no repair bills, no complaining, no having to justify extra toys to put on it but most of all no smiles when you drive it Thumbs Up 2015 HT XS 90

Here's a nice picture of some debris:

Click image to enlarge

It used to be the metal sill that supports the edge of the floor and the end of the seatbox.

The bits that aren't rusty steel are oxidised aluminium from where the seatbox side has rotted away. The seatbelt mount came with it. Evil or Very Mad

Needless to say, a large parcel from YRM Metal Solutions arrived today......

(Maybe we should have a "Show Us Your Defender Debris" thread. Shocked )

Dropped my Defender in for MOT, service and warranty work at the main dealer this morning, nice 68 plate automatic Evoque as a loan car for the week, I do like an automatic box, so a week of luxury before back to the defender Rolling with laughter can’t wait to have mine back already, isn’t it funny as owners we don’t moan at times about our defenders but we wouldn’t be without them, less than 12 hrs and I’m getting withdrawal already.

On Monday SWMBO takes hers in for an insurance respray claim for a week, so no Defenders for us for a week, she has requested a Ford Fiesta as a loan car!! This could go one of two ways either a Defender for sale if she like the fiesta or hopefully I do miss my Defender conversation next week Rolling with laughter 2015 HT XS 90

Yesterday;
Removed the winch to be sent off for a service/check up due to odd noises when winching out.

Today;
Removed the lower hinge on the drivers door as the pin had worn. While I was at it, attempted to adjust how the door sits. The lines on the hips where out. Still out now, but much closer.

Got fed up looking at the scabby chequer plate sill covers, so removed them so I can drop them off for blasting and coating. 50% of the bolts needed drilling out due to rust. These will be replaced by stainless ones.

The passenger side foot well floor mat was looking a bit grubby, so popped it in the washing machine while Mrs Exscossack is in work .... Shhhhh 1999 Defender TD5 110
