I have four cheap "Chinesium" LED flood lights, one on each side on the rack and two at the rear. Those at the rear are monted on modified mirror arms so that they can be directed backwards, sideways, forwards along the sides of the vehicle, or into the rear buck.

The work exceptionally well, and cost about £15 for the four. The powder coat is flaking off (so they wouldn't suit the detailing brigade), but it terms of VFM and verstility I have never seen a better set up. Works for me. Thumbs Up

The modified mirror arm is GENIUS! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

No, when I bought the 110 it had an old standard old crappy spot light there about the size of a thimble, I had the square one in the garage so I literally just did a swap, I changed it to round purely for aesthetics.

Love it Steve. Another top mounting solution.

How did you route the cables??

Actually, has everyone permanently routed the cables or devised a non-invasive/damaging method of cabling?

With the roof rack I am contemplating a bulkhead style plug so I can remove the rack when not needed. Still pondering on whether this is actually needed.

I have the same rack lighting project ongoing and pondering the very same question. Therefore watching your thread with interest. As for bulkhead connectors, so far, these seem interesting....

But there may be other options out there? I'll post up any more info i find.

Cheers! I used proper plated brass cable glands; one either side of the rear window. The height they are at means the cables are hidden totally behind the headlining. I used a 2core cable for each light so it has a round cross section and seals properly into the gland. I just fitted superseal connectors to the lights. I wouldnt even have bothered with these of the lights hadnt already got short cables moulded into the housing. I cant see the need in connectors if you dont plan on removing them often.

Just to post something different for the sake of it..

I have a scenelight mounted where the rear wash/wipe was. Just for symmetry. I'll probably put the wash/wipe back in due course.

But if I need light around the sides, then I'll use this. The light itself has changed to an LED one, but this gives the idea - just a cheapy worklight and cheapy clamp which goes onto the gutter wherever it's needed.

Thanks LRS. Rear view camera aside (that's another topic I will pick your brains on I expect), what make are those lamps?

Cheap, eBay special, LED flood lights, although it appears that those specific ones are out of stock at the moment:

In a different note and a bit of a thread hijack, what colour are your headlight surrounds OP, and is your grille the same colour? It’s a great contrast against the blue and I want to do the same!

They look like standard XS ones, which are Brunel grey. Darren

If you were looking for something solely for reversing then twin reversing lights do make a difference. I noticed a big improvement by fitting a second one to my defender Thumbs Up

I have contemplated doing the same on the current 110 for a couple of years as I did on the 300tdi but for some reason I cannot convince myself that there is enough room to get the three lights in a line without having move the existing two and drill more holes. How did you manage to fit them? Don't make old people mad.

There is definitely room on a Td5. As the 300 has rectangular lights they may be mounted slightly further inboard from the factory.

I just measured a million times and drilled once Laughing 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

As you can see the hinge side is the tightest. I did this side first and then transferred the measurements to the other side Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
