The red wire on the Speedohealer needs an ignition live, the black cable needs an earth which are besides the ECU. I cut the yellow/white wire coming from terminal B13 on the black ECU plug, connected the white wire of the Speedohealer to the speedo gauge end and the green wire to the ECU end.

The instructions to programme it are on Healtech's website https://www.healtech-electronics.com/ht_sh...or_en.html

For transfer box correction use it should be wired in either at the engine ECU or behind the instrument pack.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Mines down near the ECU too, power and earth piggybacked from the vehicle and cut the yellow/white which carries the signal. Just make sure you connect it so the signal goes into the unit on the correct wire...few pics below if it helps.

This shows the unit, the white and green wires looped on the right are the feed wires...

This one shows the feed wires. If you look carefully, you should be able to trace the cable routing! I just cut the yellow/white wire near the ECU. Connect the vehicle feed to the White into the Speedohealer, connect the green wire (coming out the SH) back onto the yellow/white to the wire that feeds the ECU. The instructions it comes with are pretty good.

If you have discovery transfer box like me it’s - 15 % as this is the difference the transfer box makes

Had mine working for over a year now. Works really well and is a huge bonus on long drives.
It made the 1000 mile non stop trip down to Spain last year much more bearable.
Great mod done using this guide Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

thanks but thats not what I meant, if you fit the 1.2 ratio, the speedo stays true assuming you keep the same speedo drive gear.

If you change the tyres you adjust the speedo healer to get the speedo true to a GPS but the question was what you set it to to 'fool' the ECU, not adjust the speedo but yes as 'amondeggs' suggests -15% is logical so the engine ECU knows no difference.

many thanks,

Dave Dave
