Nope. The relay for the standard Land Rover towing electrics loom is located in the battery box. Darren

Is that right? Mine is a LHD and I'm pretty much sure I have not seen it. Puma 110" SW

It was on the TD5 that I last installed and is on my current 200tdi. Both are RHD though, so maybe the layout is different. Darren

Ok. Anyway, some have relays inside the battery compartment.

No problems at all, calling the battery box sealed is optimistic at best!

Hello MK
LandRoverAnorak is right, the recommended location for the LR OEM 13Pin Towing Electrics Relay is within the Battery Compartment... (this is my Puma 2.4) ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge I would say Low or No Risk at all, if the correct Relay and Loadings are in place... (avoid any cheap 'sub-standard' electrics ![]() https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

The standard battery is vented via a pipe running out through the floor of the compartment (at least is it on my 2007 Defender).

^^^^ This is true, there is no issue at all.
Definitely use quality branded wiring and Relay though. WeWillWinπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |
