Typically best to replace both in case there were any weaknesses.
Remember there are different glass types and brands with varying quality. Genuine would not be cheap, cheap is not always good. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___ ___\βοΈLone|Star|State/___ ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/π¬π§πΊπΈ\____ _//*β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°*\\_ |

I've been led to believe the aftermarket rubber seals are too fat and you risk cracking the glass when fitting them. So make sure you get an assurance from the fitter that if they glass gets broken while refitting he'll replace the glass at his own expense.
Cheap screens can end up with optical flaws in them, they're horrible. £32 is probably a standard non tinted, non heated screen. It'll be more if yours is heated, it would be daft not to fit a tinted one even if yours wasn't originally. They take the edge off the heat on a sunny day. |

That sounds too cheap to me? EDIT: Didn't realize how cheap the non-heated/non-LR windscreens are! 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW 1956 Series 1 Hard-top 1958 Series 1 Soft-top Last edited by Kit on 16th Aug 2017 6:49pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Job Done. I went for replacement screen as there was a chip in the original that I hadn't spotted. The new screen is from Pilkington and I went for a tinted one for £38. Total fitted price with new rubber was £108. So I don't know what would have been better for Autoglass to quote £300.

You don't know me do you? No I would not attempt anything as complicated as that! The price was fitted.
