 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
slightly OT but are you meant to wait for EGT to drop below 160C prior to turning off? Cheers

One should always idle a turbodiesel before switching off. I always wait until the EGT falls to 160C, although anything below 200C should be fine. --

i know you should always idle it, just wasnt aware of the 160figure, where does that come about then? Cheers

When I test maps for Pete, I'll drive with the Nanocom Evolution connected in OBD dashboard mode where I can read the parameters that I want to check (EGR, common rail pressure, turbo pressure, water temp, inlet air temp, engine charge,....) and record its on file. Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

James, sorry boet, no offence/malice intended. The 160C is a thumbsuck of mine - by all accounts anything around 200C should be ok.

After the BAS remap with EGR-shut, initial fill up after a 200km run returned consumption of 9.5l/100km.

Went to Tulbagh for the long weekend and gave it some foot on the R44 in strong winds, and spent an hour idling in heavy traffic on Boyes Drive this evening. Consumption was 10.8l/100km after this run.

Will continue to monitor & report consumption. --

Daily commute to & from work, on BAS 1.7.2 running on BP 50ppm, consumption was 9.6l/100km. --
