Well you have seen up in my other post, but in standard form, the lever on the left has a 2 speed fan switch incorporated. Speed one is like a gnat farting though the vents, speed 2 is like Sir Alex Ferguson in a bad mood! As you move the lever up to the top it closes the fresh air flap completely.
With the Landrezieger mod, the air flap cable is left disconnected in the open position, and the complex switch lever assembly is replaced by a simple variable resistor, which talks to a PWM controller that sits under the bonnet, and controls the fan. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |

Yep I understand the benefit of the mod I am just wondering if I should have had more than the one setting in the first place

There are 4 settings in total.
1) fan off fresh air flap closed 2) fan off fresh air flap open 3) fan low speed 4) fan high speed ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Mine has closed and off right at the top. Then move it down and the flap opens before the first speed. Then down to first speed and full speed etc. That is how it should work if the cable is correctly adjusted

Just had a look on eBay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/60A-DC-Brushed-M...SwjDZYd-5t What is your opinion on trying something like this? Seeing as we have a 'rather older' 90, the control knob would not look out of place sticking out of our dash! Andy |

It's worth a go, but I wanted to keep mine looking as standard as possible. You would have to make your own wiring up with this I presume? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

The cable only controls the flow of fresh air into the heater system. If you have only one fan speed it will be either the dash switch or the wiring at fault
