Well that comment paints a portrait of a Remainer all over, judgemental and thinking they are morally & mentally superior in just abaout all ways.

There is nothing won by the Remainer set and we are still continuing to leave.
If MPs try and over rule the public it will lead to an early election called most likely and many of said MP's being kicked out completely in voting seats.
Bigger personal gamble for them as they are the losers, voters wouldn't be. ____\We|Will|Win/___

Just one question Steve. Who do you expect and want to make all the increadibly important decisions about your and your children's future?

Your elected MP in parliament? Or an unelected Tory prime minister? Or perhaps you dont believe in democracy at all and prefer mob rule?

Today your elected MP was given a say. I dont understand the problem with that?

The whole shambles just about sums up the state of British politics at the moment. Many scream about May being unelected but she was elected by the MP's who, in turn, were elected by millions of the silent Conservative voting majority to represent them. The same silent majority, like me, who voted to leave the EU. Not because I'm a xenophobic racist but because I believe the concept of a united Europe has become unworkable, mainly due to the self-serving EU bureacrats who cost us billions.
Sadly, the "leader" of the opposition is a puppet controlled by those with axes to grind, Lansman, Milne, McDonnell etc. which means he's about as much use as tits on a bull and would serve the country better by returning to the backbenches where he's been (milking the system he claims to hate) for 32yrs. The country voted Leave, the Remainers are unable to accept this. Many stand to make millions by prolonging the agony, the legal profession in particular, indeed it transpires that one of todays judges is responsible for a EU scheme regarding the integration of UK and EU law. Farage, Sturgeon, Adams/McGuinness are all waiting for their big moments and will stir the sh!t as much as possible. The worst part, IMO, is the patronising and supercilious attitudes of the so-called experts, whether in the local pub or on the late night politico TV shows. Worrying about immigration does not make anyone a racist any more than worrying about climate change makes you a bunnyhugger, and wanting out of the EU does not mean you're a paid up member of the EDL.
We voted Leave. It was very, very close so I'm happy to leave it to Parliament to have a deciding vote. What I don't want to see is months and months of procrastination which ends up dragging our country down.

Riverboy - My MP actually is Jacob Rees-Mogg who is VERY pro leave.

If you want to be insulting do so amongst yourselves, many of you practically use the site to only discuss said subject or discuss France etc etc rather than Defenders. It isn't defender2.eu you know..

As others have sensibly said from now on I'll abstain from further comment. ____\We|Will|Win/___

Well I certainly dont mean to be insulting in any way. I just want to understand your way of thinking, but it seems you have completely misunderstood what happened today.

I think you'll find 99% of my posts are about Defenders. What you mean is, you dont want opposing opinions Rolling Eyes

Hello from Aussie. Very good, balanced, post mate.
It's all a long way from us, but I have to say, being an old Pom, I do want all to be well, but I'm not hearing a lot of positive stuff about Brexit, but nor am I familiar with all of the issues.
I do know the pound's gone down, a friend of mine is selling his house in the U.K., bringing the money to Aus, which funds are now worth a LOT less, which will affect his ability to buy a house here!
Pickles.

Right, I can't let this pass. Did you seriously invoke the Johnny Foreigner line? Shocked

Did you bother to check her citizenship or were you too busy jumping up and down demanding to see Obama's birth certificate?

What she did was use democracy. The very thing you want to wave around in defence of the fact the Brexit vote polled more than the remain. That doesn't make it a win. There is a process to go through. Part of that process is the law.

Just because it's not what you want to hear, does not give you the right to scream about foreign people destroying your democracy.

Ok, I retract that it does. Because it's a democracy, so you can say what you like unless it breaks the law. However, don't be surprised if it paints a very, very poor picture of you when you do Rolling Eyes

Yet again you totally miss the point of the original post, it has nothing to do with Johnny Foreigner, but has everything to do with a person who uses our law that was set up in fairness for all, for their own individual endeavour.

She did not use democracy she used the Law a totally different thing altogether.

You have the right to your opinion and I respect that, what you do not have the right to is to scorn someone else’s opinion because it disagrees with your own.

What the hell has Obamas birth certificate got to do with it... For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

No. You are absolutely wrong. And if anything there is irony of you being judgemental on me and coming to the conclusion I somehow feel mentally superior. I don't. Morally superior, I do on this occasion because of the tone of the post which I was responding to.

You are just as wrong about me in the above sentence, as if I branded you a racist for voting leave. I have never done so (unless someone deserved it) and I have always accepted that people have a right to vote how they wish. I also have not questioned the outcome. I don't agree with it. But haven't questioned it. Unlike many in the leave camp who have banded around the 'you lost, get over it' tag so much.
I also don't dispute the point you make that remainers haven't won anything.

I merely objected to the phrasing being used in the original post because I felt it was morally wrong. New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info

What do you mean 'yet again'?
You didn't actually write the above. You wrote she is from Guyana (born there, raised in England) and a foreigner. YOUR WORDS.
And I have right to scorn someone when they openly write something that I find offensive, just because all of a sudden they felt the table turn. If you had written the above in the first post I wouldn't have replied to it.

And to explain - Obama haters are convinced he isn't American and he had to produce a birth certificate. It was referencing your lack of fact checking by calling an English citizen a foreigner. New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info

Agreed. The institution of the EU is broken.

The trouble is we will end up paying the same amount to access the club and have to abide by the same rules but have no say ............. The right solution was to stay in and fix it with our friends.

However I believe in democracy and the choice has been made , lets leave and not bother to negotiate , just go. We need to plan and be ready for lower wages , higher prices and greater unemployment for the next few years to get to where the majority want to be. I do get annoyed when people bandy the word "majority" around. 51.9% to 48.1% is close enough to half to be statistical noise. When the best case scenario is Censored off half the country it's a pretty poor state of affairs.

The whole thing was a mess. Both campaigns were guilty of talking nonsense and spreading fear and lies to try and get their way, and that really bugs me. Cameron, to be fair, offered a referendum, stated he wanted to remain, and when he lost said "Fine, have it your way" In his shoes I suspect I would have done similar.

Planning? The plan for remain was, well, remain. No plan was needed as we are already in that situation. The plan for leave... Even those campaigning to leave don't seem to have any bright ideas there. So you can hardly blame the government when the loudest voices of the leave campaign are low on thoughts.

All I know is that the exchange rates have gone to hell already, most of Europe thinks we're completely stupid, Germany is now feeling very alone in the EU (many Germans valued the UK as an industrial partner) and I'm wondering if I should try and apply for citizenship in France/Germany now or later!!

And even on this forum, anyone who wanted to remain and is unhappy about the result is being branded as a "whinger", those in favour of leaving are brandishing it around as a raging triumph of democracy, and now someone has tried to use their rights of democracy/law/government/whatever to challenge the "victory" is being called out on it because many brexiters seem to only like their version of democracy when it's being used in their favour.

There would be just as many sour grapes in the other direction if the "majority" had gone the other way Wink

I very much doubt anyone here is going to change the political results so lets get back to Defenders. Mine has been off the road a few weeks now and should be home today with a new bill of health after having the head skimmed Thumbs Up

You do realise its only been off the road because of Brexit, if we had voted to stay in, it probably wouldn't have broken down again, needed a new mod or a bit of TLC (delete as required) Very Happy

On a separate note, can you be a racist, vote Leave, but the racism had nothing to do with your vote?
Can someone also deserve to be called a racist just because they voted Leave? Surely a racist is a racist, regardless of how they voted?

Also nice to see 52% isn't now a majority, on this basis as Spurs only lost 1-0 this week, it was technically a draw and we are second in our Champions League group. This only proves that most of what is spouted about the vote, is a crock of horse poo
