BigMike, I am not ashamed to admit that I am in the 'latter category' I like the look of a raised vehicle such as Fekete's! I am also highly impressed by the 'standard  ' fitted as they work perfectly well for my style of driving and the conditions I drive in! There are many conflicting rumours and conjecture as evident from this thread! Initially my vehicle was 'booked in' next week to be done! When I queried the castor issue on a subsequent phone call I was 'advised' to have the radius arms done as well, either by replacing or bushing! My confidence then waned! No mention of this on the initial query as I didn't know any better! To me it seems that even people in the trade are unsure 100%. Booking has been cancelled until I can determine what is best for me, if and when I can afford the luxury or indeed whether to spend my hard-earned on something else instead I shall read with interest the posts on this thread! The warranty is not really an issue as with all my modifications it is I'm sure null and void! Hence my reasoning behind finding out as much as I can! I don't like doing Arfur! Arfur job!!!! Mal i've tried and tested standard
to after market and the difference being the shocks is quite amazing as i've said in previous post.... i noticed the difference when driving over cobbles and the landy use to shake to bits now with the Bilstein on the ride is smooth ?

Damn cheap option that Karlos...May do a bit o' further digging to see if they're as good/easier to fit as the shorter turret option! Thanks for the linky fingy!

Thanks Glyn, I was thinking (probably misguidedly) that shorter turrets for the front and spacers for the rear would have been the best option for me! Need to speak to other experts face to face I think!

K9, the thing with it seems to be that each and every truck, even the same model can be different in terms of prop angles. If you read that thread on the aussie lro forum (someone posted up a link earlier) you ll see the difference in measurements. There is defintely a lot of balls talked about lifts, so if you do go ahead with it, go to someone who really knows geometry and has seem all the problems before on other trucks.
Bear in mind too that your rear wheel arch is actually lower to the ground than your front wheel arch. If you lift the vehicle until the gaps from the tyres to the arches are the same, then you ve lifted the back at least 2 inches MORE than the front. In other words, it should actually APPEAR like its sitting lower at the back anyway, but the reality is that it isnt. The net effect of my springs is 1" on the front and 3" on the rear. When its under load the rears compress and the truck is level, when no load, the back appears to sit level, but actually, its a little higher. Not like a dragster, but the tape measure doesnt lie. |

Good plan
.... But might be an idea to run it by the forum before you spend any money. There are to many companies out there who just want you to buy what they tell you to, and make up stoopid reasons why you should.
I am going for Gwyn Lewis because of their reputation and when I spoke to him he would rather sell you what you want than tell you what to buy (unless you were to ask him to). Shame he is so far away from you so you can't drop in. Glyn   |

Give Gwyn Lewis a bell he his your man and he will give you the time and explain it to you if he is busy he will bell you back...as said i was there for over an hour and he was under my landy with a tape measure and told me what i could and could not do..and sorted my landy out...i was there to buy stuff from him and came away empty handed he will not make money on you for the sake of it
