Yes it could, but it won't be worth it. It's tired. I'd say buy new.

where abouts on tyneside? i think i have one in reasonable condition..?
or is that a uprated one thats failed? |

It should only cost £20 - £30 to get it welded once removed from the vehicle.
As the boost comes and goes these see stress and strain that will find any weakness - such as a poor weld. If this is all it is then a decent weld should solve it long term. Yes, it has fatigued, but the image isn't clear enough to determine the quality of the original weld. For the sake of £20 or £30 I'd get it repaired first berfore spending big bucks. Remember to flush it out well after repair - just in case ![]() |

it is a uprated one ,I would change it for standard,but I am worried a standard one will not suit the remapped ecu,but I am open to any advice on this matter |

depends on the map i guess, ive got the alive ultimate intercooler if your looking for one that wont cause any more issues... welcome to come have a look,
re the map, you could get them to adjust it for not having a big intercooler till you can acquire one? |

I think the cost difference between new and a repair needs to be considered against the hassle of fitting.
I'd be well miffed if the cooler failed again after just a few months of refitting. good luck which ever way you decide to go. ![]() |
