I've heard that Ford have got on the recycling bandwagon and recently announced a new car, the Ford Pubic, which is made entirely from recycled Corsairs! Whistle (You need to say it out loud.)

Well, in 1984 an Italian team entered this in the Paris-Dakar

With all eyes on Land Rover now to get the New Defender right,
it may prove very hard to capture those classic lines we all love...

Taxi anyone... Question

Scotland 1984 Defender 90 200 Tdi SW Coniston Green
As it happens it's not the first 4wd Capri! 2 were built in the late 60's with, I believe, Ford involvement. They were Mk1 Capri RS3,1 with fuel injection and, wait for it, Fergusan 4wd! They were built for Roger Clark and his brother and for Rallycross.

One was bought by Ian Forgan of Mercury Motors, Kinghorn, Fife in about 1983 who used it in the ESAAC (East of Scotland Association of Car Clubs) in our Autocross Championship and by god it was quick and sounded gorgeous! I was using a Mk1 Escort RS1600 steel arched big wing with a 140bhp 1600 crossflow fitted, I wish I had never sold that car!

Ian subsequently reshelled the car into a Mk2 shell, road registered it and entered the GMSC (Glenrothes Motor Sport Club) Kingdom Stages in Fife in, I think, 1984 but he crashed out having wrecked one of the unique front hubs. Some years later the car was bought by a guy who had a Leven based Engineering Business (I forget the name) who was able to remake the hub and repair the car. I haven't heard any more about the car but I believe he kept the car for some years at least.

My view, it was a pity to reshell into a Mk2 and not an original Mk1, but that is just my opinion..... Sorry but I've never been one for photography so can't post any photos of it.
