Sunroof has got a really bad leak
Looks like it is the rubber seal which has inexplicably managed to get a fold in it and now wont seal and channels water directly on to the passenger seat base. Contemplating getting a whole new roof without the sunroof to get rid of all the leaks in one go but the sunroof is part of what makes it a genuine CSW so I'm a bit torn now. I read somewhere that Vaseline is good for rubber seals? a big dollop may just be enough to hold back the tide Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

I remember when I was ordering my 110 and ticked the sunroof - the chap at the dealership went "not a good idea sir, just another place where it's likely to leak". I was brand new to Defenders back then...still ordered one. MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html

I have RI on my 110, though these are Chinese Hoo-Flung-Dung work lights. I covered the lenses with original cut up defender fog n reverse lenses.

They're readily available over here. Do you buy locally, or have stuff shipped from here?

Ex UK... That is what my large 'Qantas' baggage allowance is for mate!
Most 'Defender' type things in OZ are double the UK price... |

Finally go round to fitting the swingaway wheel carrier that I bought second hand twelve months ago last Saturday, well you can't rush these things
It's only a Bearmach/Britpart type one but there were a few issues with attaching it to my motor. I've doubled up the reverse and fog lights and the bottom bracket fits where the second NAS style reverse light sits so I had to reposition that plus fill the hole in. The bumperettes were no issue as they use the same mounting points so a pair of longer bolts sorted that out but it was the fact I have a heavy duty Brownchurch roofrack with the stays that bolt to the tub capping so a bit of creativity with the 9" grinder and the welder rearranged the fixing point. It now bolts to the top pivot point and looks quite tidy even if I say so myself. |
