There's a pressure switch on the hydraulics and two micro switches under the plastic bulge at the bottom of the dash.
With hands like mine swapping the master cylinder without removing the pedal assembly would be nigh impossible! No special tools, just a length of bleep pipe / rubber tube and an assistant is all that's required - although I did use an Easibleed, £20 odd quid from Screwfix is a bargain. I have a new take off cylinder and an easibleed if you want to borrow to try? |

Thank you Ickle.
I'll have a look tomorrow and decide which way to go with it. Thanks. |

Thanks jst.
I can't see how it could make any difference myself and feel I grasping at straws a little here. But some time back (probably years back) I seemed to think spraying wd40 may a difference not just to the dreaded clutch squeak but also the general drivability / smoothness of the engine and transmission however I dismissed it at coincidence. More recently and with the weather getting colder clutch squeak / creaking seems to have stopped, the clutch feels lighter and the whole affair seems to be running much smoother - not just gear changes but in gear also. So if the two are connected (and they seemed to be) I can only assume that when releasing the clutch pedal it's not rising fully and therefore there is still some pressure in the hydraulics causing the symptoms........but if that's the case why aren't I getting any clutch slipping? - as I write that I may have worked out the answer????? I only floor it when it's running well - presumably when the clutch is working right.....when it's not I don't rev it much and hence it doesn't slip? |

The issue is either you've changed your medication recently or reduced the dosage. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

I am now on a mission to find and resolve this issue. I have to, to prove myself right and sane (and you all wrong ).
Medication has been increased for the Christmas period so perhaps there is some link? |

Caterham you have done 90k on 500 miles per tank that's 180 tanks of fuel, most of us get 300 miles per tank so that's 300 tanks of fuel so we do most of our waving to each other on garage forecourts 2015 HT XS 90

and I drive past most of you doing this
a difference of approx. 120 tank each at £80 = £9,600 - ruddy norah - that re-map has more than a little paid for itself |

Caterham, 120 tanks, Jeeeez, that poor economy? I'm still doing about 2 months per tank, or about only 6 tanks/year. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |
