Ive not used the new nanocom but i think the decision comes down to what other vehicles you want to use it on. If you only want to use it on your own land rover and TD5's and discovery 2 and 3's then i would go for the Nanocom. However if you get a hawkeye then you know you can use it on every land rover, but it does cost quite a bit to unlock it for every model.

I'm going for the nanocom evolution with the puma td4 pack for crimbo. Was looking for a faultcode reader initially and thought the blackbox fcr or the msv would be a good bet. Instead got a scangauge for faultcodes etc. The nanocom sytem already has a loyal following with td5 and disco 2 owners and they are developing software for d3's and in time probably d4's. When the missus changes her current car she is getting a d4 and the nanocom is vin free unlike the blackbox versions where you have to upgrade the licence to add another vehicle.
I may be a bit prem in getting the nanocom as i still have 21 months of warranty left but feel the nanocom units support to be better than blackbox (opinion comes from posts here and on other forums) and be more future proof so worth the 455 euros to get it. |

Rather buy from a UK seller - if nothing else, than to support the UK (not to mention not wanting to remember my german on each use!) Mike |

Only found three resellers for the nanocom unit, they are nanocom, aylmer motors(italy) and nakatanenga. I use google chrome as it automatically translates the page you are on into english so have no problems with the language barrier plus peter speaks good english. Why not pm peter and ask for a deal? I have bought from nakatanenga in the past with no problems and the service is excellent (Peter even phoned me at home to work out a small problem), even emailed them about the nanocom unit to see what language it was in, it's English. Plus you can download everything you need for the unit direct from nanocoms website. And here's the peach....peter's a little bit cheaper than the nanocom website!
