Rear Step Bumper 90 Additional Bracing?
Just had a rear step bumper fitted by an independent land rover specialist, but notice the bracing bars from the hitch area to the rear chassis rails are omitted.

I called about it and was told the 90s don't have these. I said I thought otherwise and would come and speak to them face to face.

The rear step has a label "Styleauto Ltd"; I was under the impression that it would be oem spec. I thought it should have the bracing between the circled holes?

Anyone know what it should have?

A couple of points.

What is on the invoice? You suggest you believe LR/ OEM was to be fitted. Did you believe it should have been a proper genuine LR one, OEM or generic aftermarket? In general terms genuine LR is more expensive then OEM, which tends to be more expensive then aftermarket gear.

Personally I believe that bracing should be fitted.

However why not phone Style Auto on 01525 217705 and ask them?

Please remember that a vehicle registered as a commercial vehicle does NOT require type approved tow bar but a car does require type approved towing equipment since 1998(???) Another point to consider when you approach the garage which fitted it.

Thanks for your replies, Obviously I didn't try hard enough on Google!

I phoned Style Auto who confirmed the arms should be present. They have a wee website too:

It is genuine Land Rover, I fitted mine at weekend with bracing bars Thumbs Up

They were in the box together with a drilled piece of metal that goes between the crossmember underneath & the L shaped bit that bolts up into the crossmember - Might be worth that is fitted Exclamation 2020 P300 HSE
