Stupid question - how much soot would you expect in the tail pipe? My 2.4 09 puma has done 22k miles, is un- modded, driven everyday and averages 26mpg. I've had it about 5 months and so far have only checked the oil level which hasn't moved.

2009 110 sold a few weeks ago with 25K on the clock - exhaust pipe was jet black. Been like that from a couple of months old.
As far as I know, it is a trait of diesels, not LR's. Bob 2015 Jaguar XE240 R Sport - goes like ....... !! 2013 Defender 90 CSW - sold 2009 Defender 110 Double Cab - sold 2001 TD5 90 CSW - offroad project - sold to a forum member 2011 Porsche Boxster - for the sunny days ! |

black soot from a couple of hundred miles stayed like that and now at 7500 miles, interestingly the BM at 46000 miles still has a pretty clean exit because of the DPF perhaps DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |
