Turbo Failure
Yesterday my turbo failed.

6000 miles ago my HG and EGR failed

Turbo shaft broke and front fan split in two pushing all the broken fins into air filter and probably intercooler.

Does anyone know if these issues are related and if now it will be ok to just change the turbo, intercooler and air filter?

Puma 2.2 60000 miles.

Drop the sump, clean out any debris, and flush out the turbo oil return line ...on top of an oil and filter change, of course.

Yes, parts of the fins have been pushed up into the air filter

Counter-intuitive since that is against the direction of airflow!

Was it a genuine turbo? Or aftermarket? 2017 5.0 V8 Supercharged RRS SVR

Certainly is but they were definitely there. I only checked because I read somewhere that this happens. I guess the small fragments are travelling so fast that they are forced that way.

Genuine. It’s the original as it came out of the factory

Forgot to include replacing the intercooler and either carefully cleaning out its hoses or replacing them as well.
