I've always gone for the LR extended warranty on this and previous LRs. Be careful to choose the Extended full warranty and not the Select version which is designed for higher mileage LRs and doesn't cover everything in the "Full Fat" one. Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S

Easy decision, go for the full Land Rover warranty, the others are cheaper because they do not cover as much, especially the labour charge.

Never run a modern vehicle without full warranty.
Go full LR Extended with recovery. No brainer ![]() 1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie" Many Range Rovers and Land Rovers over the years 😂 1949 80" - still in family since 1975 |

Given it’s a JLR product I’ve gone full warranty with LR Assist. Usefully, there’s a 0% APR monthly payment option if you don’t want to shell out the full amount up front.
Some say it’s an expensive way to pay for repairs that may never be needed so they self insure by putting away an equivalent sum annually in an instant access savings account or even Premium Bonds. 23.5MY 90 V8 Carpathian grey |

I’ve gone on a wing and a prayer! My car will be 5yr old in January, 37k miles so far. Only issues have been the headlamps and a parking sensor. If I had been extended warranted then they would have just replaced them and LR parts would be quids in!
As it happened, I argued with LR for a contribution on the first one, which ended up with an 80% parts contribution. This bill came to £700. Second headlamp I got repaired by an independent at £300. So I’ve spent £1000 in repairs in 3 years out of warranty (provided it doesn’t break before January) How much would that have cost in warranty premiums? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |
