Agree that looks very smart,

I've had mine in bits to fit a better / upgraded screen wash device.. I've now owned this truck 10 years and should have done this 10 years ago..

While I had it in bits I fitted new bulbs for the heater bit of the dashboard, it now all lights up Smile

Changed the Gearbox oil, the change from 1st to 2nd was feeling notchy.

Thought it might be low on oil, removed the fill plug to see if I could find a level with a (bent over cabletie) dipstick. Oil started pouring out the filler plug.

Drained and refilled with 2.2 Litres of fresh 75W90 GL4 gear oil.

Afte measuring the oil in the drain pan, 3.5 Litres plus the lost drips. Garage that did the service must have topped up to the fill plug.

Feels better now and I think one of the transmission noises is quieter. Craig.

Stacey007 - Who’s washer jet is that, is it Optimil or another?

Cragster69 - Oh yes, over the top fill on the MT82 has those kind of effects.
It’s a fiddle to fill with the precise amount but it’s well worth it to do so, in fact it’s the best way to go.

_________

Today I bought a few bits and pieces from Opie Oils.

Yesterday I fitted part of an upgrade, which I’m pleased with so far. Mr. Green ____\We|Will|Win/___

Cleaned the maf sensor, then attempted to get to the map sensor to clean that but couldn't undo that damn left hand bolt on the acoustic cover, it just kept spinning!

I recall having issues with that bolt on my old Discovery when trying to put the cover back on, the other two on right hand side were never a problem, what's so weird about that one?! Confused 2004 Defender 90 Td5 CSW

Revisited the much delayed bush replacement project together with general underneath tidying/painting/dinitrol as there was a spell of dry weather. Whilst I am a seasoned ‘under estimator’ of the time taken for these jobs, I’ve outdone myself here Rolling Eyes

Pre-winter underside sort out..

Rear wheel bearing rumble, resulted in a full refresh on the rear axle and a chassis treatment. One stuck caliper bolt has slowed progress though. 2017 5.0 V8 Supercharged RRS SVR

Gave the old girl new wing mirrors as a quick motorway blast on Sunday night (in between the fog) led to the nearside one going spontaneously into streamlined mode.

Put the design and development engineering adjusters on as well. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green- Slowly Turning into Keswick Green - It's a keeper.

Following the Gearbox Oil change the gear change was improved but the movement of the lever was a bit crunchy at times.
After a search on here I read about removing the gearstick, cleaning out the old grease and regreasing.

On first refitting it was worse, found this video and rechecked the steps, I had missed the bottom cage.

Removed and regreased, put it all back together correctly and the gear changes are definitely smoother Craig.
