Also using some heat on the nylock nut softens the plastic inside and make it simpler to remove, but you have to be carefull for thing around. I use small propan torch for this. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

I think you can also put the hand brake drum back on, tighten the prop nuts back on (you might need a stack of washers) without the prop shaft, pull the hand brake and undo the nut with a large breaker bar. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

@ Dinnu - Ok, I’ll combine all the techniques here and try to undo it. Just waiting for my 24" breaker bar and felt washer to arrive.
