Did you open and close one of the second row doors ?
Check your 10AS fuses, one may have blown due to a short on the B pillar central locking loom. Two in under seat fuse box, one in under dash fuse box. https://www.lrworkshop.com/electrics/defen...nd-headers Last edited by Ianh on 27th Jun 2025 11:40am. Edited 1 time in total |

Managed to bump start so we’re up and running. Looks like I’ve got an issue with the starter motor. Solenoid is clicking but no attempt to spin on the start. Back on route to billing off road show any kind souls see a black 110 with an Ozpod setup. Give us a hand for beer tokens! 👍 2023 Defender L663 V8

Did you change your main relay after the issue you posted in another topic recently?

I don’t mind lending a hand if you need it. Not brilliant on electrical stuff but have a basic socket set with me.

Cheers Johnlad!
Ianh ordered one online but didn't turn up in time, I think this is a different fault? This time the dash performed as it should needles and lights as they should be, just nothing when it’s turned for the starter to engage, swapped relays (main and starter) the same. I could feel the starter relay clicking too. Bumped it luckily and made it to Billing show. Turned engine off and it restarted perfectly fine every time??? 2023 Defender L663 V8 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 (gone) 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |

Battery all good - twin optima’s fully charged, terminals tight and secure.
I know the ignition switch is good because the starter relay was clicking, still could be the relay I suppose? Or the solenoid? Tried again this morning and it starts with no issue ![]() The starter look a pig to do, anyone done it on the drive? 2023 Defender L663 V8 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 (gone) 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |

If it’s a td5 then the top bolt requires a selection of extensions to get a socket on it. Once that’s out the other 2 are straightforward
