Have you weighed Poppy fully laden, water tank full and all?
Sometimes feel our Defender is blooming heavy and we don't even have any underslung tanks etc. The Yeti - 110 Camper https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic90308.html

not yet Ian, it was weighed not long after I had the pop top and insides fitted out .. but not since the water tank which will add a little more ...
When I find a weigh bridge next time I’ll pop on and see ... Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

No drama on my account, I have no idea what ours weighs, but I can't help feel we need to shed a little weight somewhat.

I don't think the brownchurch roof rack does us any weight favours either Laughing The Yeti - 110 Camper https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic90308.html

I'll have to go back and read the OP.....this is what I want to do in the next 18months and trying to find an adventure camper without spending £150k + is somewhat alarming. I keep pointing in the direction of the Hymer

I am always looking at taking less .. but tools and toys soon add to the weight ! food and clothes are easily to reduce but the essentials keep getting added to the set up ..
We are somewhat stable now with the kit we carry, but a am naughty for always adding something ..’just in case !’
The last trip to Morocco was the less we have carried for a long trip, but only tool one fuel can and one water can on the side for the desert, and the awning sides (the heaviest single item) were carried for the trip though Europe as it was the winter time.

As with make up and fashion .. less is more ! Smile Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

We have had landrover campers for many years in various forms, and it’s a marmite thing .. if you love Landrovers then you will put up with the limited space, draughts and leaks, and the noise when driving. But you get a bespoke vehicle that you have built, which gives you lots of smiles per miles, and goes off the tar roads with out any effort, getting to places that even the most basic campers find issues with.

But if you want comfort and space when parked up, .. the landrover in not going to better a VW camper or any motor home. Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

100% agree.

There could ALWAYS be just a bit more room for this, or for that. Often times you find out how much room you really don't have when the weather comes rolling in.

But so far it's not outweighing the pleasure. The Yeti - 110 Camper https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic90308.html
