That looks like a coaxial cable - if it is it has a central conductor and is surrounded by a thin braided wire sheath. Typically used for an antenna or a AV cable. Can you follow the cabe to see where it goes? It doesn't look 'factory'.

Is it not the aerial for the alarm remote?
Mine has a similar wire there. |

In fact you can see it in this picture from when I changed the wiper spindles earlier in the year.

On a 2014 it probably is the alarm aerial. The obvious suggestion is for the OP to trace the other end of the wire and see what is connected.
