Exmoor Trim.
Really nice bits of kit. I didn’t want gloss hinges so these ticked the box perfectly. Can’t comment as to longevity, but fingers crossed. Need to buy the boot hinges at some point, albeit no rush as the standard ones are wearing remarkably well. |

Thanks, really like that they aren't visibly branded and satin black. Same or bigger footprint as original hopefully

3rd MOT done and ticked over 90k. Who said Defenders aren’t great dailies……..
Few bits of wiring needed sorting to get it through the MOT with all the lights operational, but otherwise a clean bill of health. |

I still get asked by people about using Ron as a daily.......
....3 and a bit years in to genuine daily use and about 60k miles and he never fails to make me smile, especially now we have got to elbow out sunny days. Nothing beats slinging a pair of bikes in the back, or a soggy dog with nose under your left arm as you trundle along at your own pace. Adore Ron. Other side of daily use? Keeping him rolling. Last few months have seen a high pressure fuel pump ![]() So yes you can run them as dailies, but as my only transport, my bank knows about it.... Now back to spring |

Sorry was being slow… yes they are a LR item you can buy from all the usual specialists with a spot of googling. Apologies I forget where I got them.

Another trip to the garage this week to tick off some more…… broken bits. Inlet manifold, fuel cooler thingy, aux belt and tensioner and a duff EGR valve all sorted and running like a dream (if a dream is rolling down a pebbled hillside).
Starting to think may be time to move Ron on now all the jobs have been done…. Sacrilegious? More like passing on something sorted rather than a dog. Nice new stablemate is keeping him company in the meantime: ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Are you looking at an alternative vehicle? Wanting to pass it on whilst you're at a happy place with Ron?
I can understand if everything is currently tip top you can pass him on with a clean conscience but also without the worry of having to deal with future problems if you keep him, but also part of me also think you appear to be quite hot on keeping on top of problems, so why bother getting rid? Wife and I were discussing the other day how we're not quite sure we'd have the heart to sell the Yeti... only owned (himherthey ![]() Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@YetitheDefender Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/yetithedefender/ |

Defo mindset of passing on whilst in good order.
What to replace Ron with? Tough call as an equivalent needs to be able to take my bikes in the same manner. Grenadier is an option. For now need to just enjoy the elbow out the window life of a daily. |
