Clutch Flywheel Slave Cylinder --- advice needed

I have a 2007 110 double pickup no mods, I have had to replace two clutches in the last year. Less than 3,000 miles between replacements. The first replacement was due to a transmission defect which resulted in a warranty replacement of the transmission with a new clutch. This time the dealer gave me abill for £3,000.00 and told me the springs in the clutch had broken and damaged the flywheel. I've refused to pay the bill.

I replaced the clutch in my old Tdi90 once in 6 years. Are there issues with this models transmissions/clutches/flywheels. I've had defenders for 10 years and never seen anything like this.

Any advice?

for a second clutch to go in 3000k mile something isn't right.
are you towing heavy loads or driving on very dusty roads as i know that r380 bellhousing used to let dust in.

use the search facility on the website for clutch issues - i'm sure i've seen comments and woes before

Towing should not bother it as i tow heavy everyday.... something is not right tho

No towing has been done with this vehicle, no offroad. I had never seen anything like this before and am at a loss on how to deal with the dealer and/or landrover

I guess it is a Puma.

Are u sure the flywheel is damaged? It is a pretty solid piece of steel. What was the transmission fault?

Maybe they fitted the old friction-cheese plate. Puma 110" SW

Did they check the Gearbox Input shaft bearing for movement when they changed the clutch?

You mean radial or axial play? I understand the MT82 has noticeable radial play in the input shaft (also on Mustangs). Puma 110" SW

My thoughts exactly on the flywheel. I looked at the one they took out. There was some minor grooving and some some knicks where it looks like the springs did some damage. I would have thought that it could have been machined.

I have no idea as to what they did, but as it took them three and a half months to change the transmission last time I question whether they know what they are doing... how do you deal with a dealer who you have no confidence in, and is the only one around?
