My dealer says (and there's no reason to believe anything he says) but, the old defender manufacture could be taken overseas and continue to build to supply countries that don't have an interfering EU with their regulations and emissions red tape. If you removed the name on the bonnet, or put another. Would people know (or care?) that it was not a Land Rover?
For the military, who still use TDi motor Defenders, they might switch to a European truck, or Hummers from the US. Farmers will (& do) use other tugs. Utility services shop around makes anyway. Other specialist users will have bespoke conversions made to other vehicles. But a better lookalike replacement might come, Jeep's Wrangler, BMW's Mini, VW's Beetle, and a Citroen that has 2CV overtones are on the road. Tata aren't completely out of touch, the Tetley Tea Folk are back in the ads  Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Do you consider (commercial) Shoguns a viable alternative? Shoguns have been around a longish time so must be proven... Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Biggest piece of
 I have ever owned, that's what made me change to a Defender.
Everything failed once off road, and cost me thousands, and depreciated like a turd. Not good |

IMHO there’s only one viable alternative to a Land Rover, namely the Toyota 4Runner. Early ones built like tanks - and classified by the UN as a military vehicle, destroyed rather than left behind - but over the years made more luxurious, softer, and more expensive. Now what does that remind you of? Back to this post , I’m now on my second jam-jar of 50p pieces, saving up for a DC100 Peter |

Answer yes but its not a Defender so lets not compare it to one.
As someone said earlier lets just put some of the stuff right thats easy to fix on the current model, like switches in sensible places, doors that are easier to close, and a little more width for the driver (just a couple of inches) please....
