Leeds parking
i have to spend a night in leeds next week and take the defender... with all the thefts of late I'm a little worried.

when its home its in a very secure locked garage huge cctv system bla bla

the actual place I'm staying is with a friend in hyde park... one of the most burgled post codes in the country (she's a student)
- so am i before it gets creepy.

i don't really want to leave it on the street in hyde park, it does have security additions but id still rather find a nice secure carpark with a warden etc... could anybody pm me some ideas? she can pick me up from wherever i leave the car..

There must be a forum member perhaps that can offer parking and a lift if required? Good luck.

if you knew the price of a new genuine series 3 bulkhead... you wouldn't be letting it out of your sights... especially in the most burgled post code in the country!! its about 5x the price of a new puma bulkhead.. for one.

i think I've found somewhere thanks to parkopedia...

Height restrictions: 6' 8" (2.1m)

CCTV, Disabled Spaces, Safer Parking Award, Secure, Lift
Type: Multi-Storey, Lit, Manned

getting a lift isn't a issue just somewhere secure was.

If your Defender is having work done on it why not just leave it overnight at the garage doing the work?

Long story it's going for upgraded alarm installs at one place and rear brakes at another, both about 1 hour from Leeds

Try speaking to Brian at Four Plus4 in Leeds.

About 1/2 mile from Hyde Park Corner. Get your brakes done there and secure parking overnight??

I park in a student area of Leeds every so often when visiting the girlfriend. Never had any issues before now. I have steering lock, pedal lock etc etc. I think I'd rather it be outside the window than a few miles away in a car park. Maybe that's just me?

You have to think that the types of people committing burglaries (usually drug addicts looking for laptops etc to sell on for quick cash) aren't the same type of people that are stealing Land Rovers to strip down/export. There does seem to be a few students with Defenders around the Leeds area that I keep seeing when I visit. Tom
