Got my mate who makes stickers to print me out a negative version of a cruise control sticker to put on the cruise on/off switch this week.
Stuck it on in place

Scratch off the paint in the gaps

And after removing the sticker I don’t think it looks too bad, not perfect but passable.

Got to get it all wired now Mr. Green Ray

Understood...let us know how it works. Although I presume my 5th gear ratio would scupper it? 2002 110 td5

Forgot to say, I bought a speedo healer too as I’ve got the 1:22 ratio transfer box in, speedo healer should work with yours if your planning on fitting cruise. Ray

JimB1978 - If it's a v8 ratio 5th gear then a speedo healer should sort it, it did with mine. Depending where you locate it in the loom, it will either alter the speedo reading and the CC limit together or just the CC.

Mk1collector - Are you mounting the D2 switch on the steering column? You will need to modify the steelwork behind a little but it is pretty simple. Likewise the base of the switch is flat whereas the column has an angle created by the upper and lower parts but a few minutes with a Dremel sorts it. Nice work on the CC switch Cool

Hi Harry, I’m fitting the column switch just like yours, I’d seen your pics before so was going to copy Embarassed Thumbs Up I’ve cut the cowl already but I still need to cut the metal bit. Ray

Harry, how did mount the D2 switch ? I’ve trimmed my cowl ready to fit but I have no idea how I’m going to line it up and fit it first and the get the cowl on.

I was going to fit an L shape bracket to the bottom cowl and attach the switch to that then Slot the top cowl over the switch. Ray

Hi AJC, there's a few photos I posted in this thread if that helps. I fitted it to the bottom section of the cowl only, it seems pretty sturdy when the cowl is all bolted back together but it took a while to get it flush hence the washers under the bracket http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic58769-15.html

Mk1collector - Sorry but off the top of my head I can't remember which way around and I'm currently in the wrong continent to check the Defender. Do you have a multimeter that you can check with?
