Good to hear you had an uneventfull (landy problem wise) trip hopefully ours will be the same Mr. Green we're off to south Brittany on the coast somewhere i can't remember the town name but the misses has it somewhere I hope Rolling with laughter I've still got a couple of bits to do before we go if bits arrive Big Cry

A beautiful area of France. I have just filled up. 23.62 mpg at 70mph.

Some pictures and recommendations of where to stay would always be appreciated. Once I get organised I will do the same.

I've not checked my mpg lately but since taking the rack off and getting the head done I'm defeinately getting more miles per tank. When I'm back ill post up the findings good or bad from the hols Thumbs Up

Fitted the rear tinted sliding windows from masai.

No fitted pics yet as the last one was fitted a bit late, ill decide which other tinted ones I want after I get back from hols but at least there shouldn't be any rattling on the journey now.
A word of warning on the window fitting though, the windows aren't a direct replacement for original Landrover sliders so a bit of filing is involved. Also don't buy the rivets to hold in the windows from masai as they aren't capped and when informed they didn't know what capped rivets were so I had to send then pictures and a description pointing out that the ones they supply will let water into the vehicle Rolling Eyes still waiting on acknowledgement and a refund.

Well here she is in holiday mode with roof bars and box, I picked up some window vents and a couple of cup holder for the second row seats from Brendan today and as you can see the tinted sliders are in so that's it for before the trip other than treating her too a wash.

Just picked up some parts to make my own side window demisters so I need some dry weather to get drilling and cutting now :mrgreen:

Fitted side window demisters today. Similar idea to the mud ones but only cost £14 and some of my time Mr. Green

£14 is actually expensive because I had to buy a long length of convoluted tube. if I hadn't decided to do the job Saturday evening when only b&q were still open I probably would have been able to find the tube sold by the metre so I bet the job would have only cost about 7 or 8 quid. You need 2 pipe strengtheners 22mm ones are the best size (the open vent bits) from b&q which are about £3 and about 1 metre of 25mm convoluted tube. Also 2 25mm jubilee clips. First remove the dash top, dash clocks, and upper dash trim. You should be able to see the base of the windscreen vents. Right next to the base of both vents a 22mm hole needs to be drilled into the heater box at the outer side. Measure the amount of tube you need to reach the ends of the dash from the hole in the heater box and cut the convoluted tube. Feed the tube into the heater box about a cm and it will hold itself in place (this is a bit tricky) now rebuild the dash apart from the end plates. Drill a 22mm hole in either end trim of the dash and put one pipe strengthener in each then feed the convoluted tube onto the pipe strengthener and clamp with the jubilee clips (one each side) and screw the end trims back on. Works the same as the mudstuff version will but only costs about £7 or £8 and about 3 hours time. With a saving of £120 I think it's well worth it Thumbs Up

More money spent Big Cry just fitted some conti cross contact tyres and picked up the heated mirror kit from mud

Fitted the pads to some new mirror heads
I'll get new (un-corroded) mirror arms and the heated screen wiring next week and get everything wired up in time for winter. Or be bankrupt and have to sell everything Rolling with laughter

Thumbs Up thank you. I've recently had all the tow bar bits blasted and re-powder coated so I'm starting to get her corrosion free all be it slowly. Side steps next then a few bits of paint to get done come spring time Mr. Green
