Interior/Dash options
Hi All ,

Right, getting on with stripping the inside and dynamat going in... Wheels back on in anthracite, bonnet gas struts done and refurb rad fitted Wink

So options for front of car/dash area.. Pretty standard at the moment but previous owner has a home made switch panel with arbs and electric windows down between the seats.. I want to relocate everything to the dash.

What would look best? btw, not a raptor dash fan. Maybe MUD console and carlings? might need auto electrician to help extend current switches/cables but we'll see!
Would love to recover in like alcantara or something practical but classy and different.. after all its no longer close to a factory car anyway.

Anyone got any good ideas?
Cheers
Nick

As you've asked, of course I am biased and this is an advert Mr. Green

Dash covered in leather (we can use Alcantara if you'd prefer)

Nick...

If was me, go standard LR and update all the dash to a post 2002 Defender Td5 spec...

Everything fits properly, looks OE etc etc.

I've done a couple of mud dashes (will post pictures later) with carling switches (and double DIN stereo) look nice, but I still prefer OE.

Or late Td5 - but with a Mud Panel to mount some different switches.

Then a bit of flocking - and jobs a good'un.

How much to cover a dash as in these photos in leather?

I am in the same place at the moment with updating a dashboard.

I too hate raptor dash's, they look fine for challenge trucks but for every day there a bit too racy for me.

I went for an Iron Goat dash as I couldn't find a complete Td5 dash for sensible money (or legitimate source more importantly)

I havn't fitted it yet but the plan is to have Radio below, Cb between the gauges, rev counter on right second battery on left and then switches along the bottom row.

Not much help I know but my 2p worth Thumbs Up Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197
