Put two of these interior LEDs into my TD5 yesterday nice white light to see what's rattling about, fallen on the floor, or leaking in the door.

Hi Tucker, seriously have you been outside lately it's freezing.
I've looked out my thermals for tomorrow "Windy Wilson" is alluding to brass monkeys and I'm taking no chances. Very Happy

I tried similar bulb, it's in the bin now as I can't stand the Xenon White or "cool white" led colour (6000k).

Ended up with a Warm White (2800k) 48 LED bulb from amazon, same colour temp as the normal halogens and it's even brighter, just a shame about the water ingress shorting out the door switch really Laughing

there's a guide on youtube here &hd=1

Just had a look at that and yes seems ok, but more than twice the price, and I suspect your 48 LED jobbie will be even dearer, but WAY BRIGHTER Shocked

I tried fitting the 42mm bulb in my 2013 model and it was too long, so i have ended up with a 38mm long bulb with only 8 LEDs in and its not so bright Sad JE Zulu 110 now sold

I upgraded both interior lights to LED a few months ago, the before and after pictures can be seen here: http://defender90xs.blogspot.com/2013/05/led-lights.html
I'm thinking of adding a third light at the back door because it's dark behind the rear seats when they are in the upright position.

These pictures don't do it justice for the 48 LED panels but they are very bright, around 3 times brighter than the original bulbs. I stuck the sticky back to a thin metal plate on the inside to act as a heat sink, 3 months down the line now and they still work without overheating.. Thumbs Up

Here they are in warm white (halogen colour) with extra adaptors: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Interior-Festoon-A...8+warm+led

I've got the 48 LED panels in my 90 plus in my wife's Freelander, they are excellent.
They have proved very reliable and everyone always comments how good the interior lighting is, plus they don't get hot if you are sat in the car for prolonged periods. Bought in bulk when I realised just how good they are they work out at about £1.50 each which has to be a bargain.
Prior to fitting the panels I used the festoon bulb / LED, an improvement on the filiment bulb but completely outclassed by the panel.

If you wanted something slightly non-standard I can recomened the 34LED "Touch" light available through Mudstuff.
I bought five for fitting in my parents motorcaravan (strange that such an expensive brand-new vehicle should be fitted with halogen's which are distinctly "old hat" now?) and the performance is outstanding. ONE LIFE, GET IT!
