I guess we all like different things, would not be my choice as 16" fit the bill and there is more choice in 16" than 18".

Why not Thumbs Up I think 18's give the vehicle a more refined up to date look, especially compared to the standard tyre option and it improves handling on the road.

I know the comp guys will go for a small wheel to get more side wall to cope with impact Thumbs Up TBH 90% of on road/off road new Defenders never get used in those extreme conditions that would require a large side wall.
Having said that we have used Defenders in competitions in Morocco on 18's and have never had problems. In fact the 18" Coopers are awesome in the sand.

well to be honnest I have been running 35" tyres on my 90 with a 2" lift and im going for a change in style now going back to standard height springs blistain shocks and anti roll bars with 18" range rover sport alloys and 285 65 18 BFG all terrain got more road miles to cover this year Thumbs Up
