Hello.
I have an Ecoflow Delta 2 battery generator, which usually comes around with me in my current vehicle. I'm waiting on the arrival of a D250 Defender Hard Top. I'm looking into the Ecoflow Alternator to charge my Delta battery on the go. Here is the product: https://eu.ecoflow.com/products/800w-alternator-charger In short, you attach the "Alternator Charger" to the battery terminals, and when the voltage of a running car kicks in, the Delta is charged using up to 800W via the car's alternator. You can set it to turn off when the voltage reduces, thus not draining the car battery when ignition is turned off. You can also reverse charge, so the Delta battery can top up the charge of the car's battery. My question to anyone in the know: How much resolve does the Defender D250 alternator have, can it handle the extra load?* *The Alternator Charger can demand up to 74A draw from the alternator when it full whack (I believe this can be throttled, or the smaller 500w version can be used instead if the Defender Alternator can't handle it) *Ecoflow states an alternator of above 150A is best suited to the alternator charger. Quick research suggests an A output rating is not quite so simple on the Defender alternator (I am about to deep dive, but if anyone can explain it's unique system in lamen terms, it could save me some time). Thanks, |
